If enough fluid is available to submit in the syringe, dispose of the needle and replace it with the black syringe cap.
Submit fresh in a capped syringe on an ice pack.

The needle may need to be flushed several times in formalin. Apply FNA sticker to the formalin bottle and requisition form. Submit in formalin.
