Robyn Gaffney, MD

Board-Certified Anatomic / Clinical Pathologist

Dr. Robyn Gaffney is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Gaffney received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, completed her residency training at the University of New Mexico, and then went to the Mayo Clinic for fellowship training in surgical pathology. Dr. Gaffney specializes in soft tissue, breast pathology, and cytology.

Dr. Gaffney began her career as an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico. She was on staff at St. John’s Medical Center in Santa Monica for several years before returning to New Mexico to join Pathology Associates of Albuquerque and TriCore Laboratories. During her 17 years in Albuquerque, Dr. Gaffney maintained a busy surgical pathology practice and held several medical directorships throughout the state, including Rust Medical Center. During her tenure at RMC, the hospital saw the opening of a cancer center, an ambulatory surgical center, and a breast center of excellence. Dr. Gaffney also participated in multiple research projects in collaboration with TriCore Laboratories.

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Gaffney’s pathology expertise and professionalism are welcomed assets to the Sagis team.
