Heather Froehlich, MD

Board-Certified Dermatopathologist

Dr. Heather Froehlich is a Board-Certified Dermatopathologist, also certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Dr. Froehlich completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she remained for fellowship training in Dermatopathology. 

Dr. Froehlich specializes in the diagnosis and classification of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, along with complex inflammatory and infectious skin conditions. She has a special interest in clinicopathologic correlation, working closely with referring clinicians to support early detection, informed surgical planning, and better patient outcomes. An experienced educator, Dr. Froehlich has served as an Instructor of Pathology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, contributing to resident education and tumor board conferences. She has authored a book chapter and numerous peer-reviewed publications and abstracts presented at national meetings. 

Prior to joining Sagis, Dr. Froehlich served as Laboratory Medical Director and dermatopathologist for Preferred Dermatology in McKinney, Texas, overseeing dermatopathology services and diagnostic quality. She is a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology, American Academy of Dermatology, and Texas Medical Association.
