Dr. Emily DeSantis is board certified in anatomic pathology and dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology. She was raised in North Carolina and achieved her B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude, from Wellesley College in Massachusetts. After graduating with honors from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Dr. DeSantis completed her anatomic pathology residency and her dermatopathology fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Following her medical training, Dr. DeSantis spent several years as the Director of Dermatopathology for a regional reference laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology at the University of New Mexico, overseeing the dermatopathology teaching programs for both departments. Dr. DeSantis and her family relocated to Texas 10 years ago, and she most recently served as the Director of Dermatopathology for a large, physician-owned dermatology practice.
Dr. DeSantis is a member of the College of American Pathology, American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Dermatopathology, and Texas Society of Pathologists. She resides in Austin with her spouse, Gerard, and their two children.
