Pathology Billing Specialist, Houston, TX
Follow-up on all billing accounts
Appeal insurance denials and identify insurance rejection codes
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
Demonstrate judgment and decision-making capability to resolve conflicts
Must be result oriented and maintain quality results by following company standards
Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
Analytical and multi-tasking skills are required
Must be able to identify inconsistencies and provide solutions
Ability to learn laboratory procedures and protocols
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work overtime when needed
Ensure confidentiality of patient information by following HIPAA guidelines
Maintain a high level of professionalism with patients/customers and internal staff
Ability to be flexible with changing
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Knowledge of electronic claims, submission and errors.
High-school or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pathology billing preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
Will require the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
