Dr. Farinaz Arbab is board-certified in cytopathology by both the American Board of Cytopathology and the American Board of Anatomical and Clinical Pathology. She received her medical degree from the University of Shaheed Beheshti (National University of Iran) School of Medicine in Tehran, after which she had completed her residency in OB/GYN at the same school. Following this time, she completed her clinical fellow at the University of Claude Bernard Lyon I, (Lyon, France) and continued on to La Croix Rousse Hospital to complete her training in the Female Reproductive System Ultrasound.

Dr. Arbab came to Houston to complete her research fellowship in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Texas, Houston and pursued a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and fellowship in Cytopathology at Baylor College of Medicine. During that time, she was also completing her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Claude Bernard Lyon I and her fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Her active memberships to name a few; the American Society of Cytopathology, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathologists and the Texas Society of Pathologists. Dr. Arbab has been involved with the Houston Society of Clinical Pathologists for several years, engaging as a sponsorship chair, secretary, treasurer and most recently, Parliamentarian.
